Feeling anxiety can be a struggle.
Anxiety can be difficult for all of us to manage. When we feel anxiety, it can be helpful to find reassurance in the Bible. Here are 10 verses to meditate on when you feel anxiety surging in yourself.
- Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. - 2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. - Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken. - Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. - Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Hebrews 13:6
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?” - Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - Psalm 91:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” - Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
