​POSITION OVERVIEW

The Youth Minister will oversee all aspects of the student ministry for middle school and high school students while partnering closely with families and church leadership. Reporting to the Discipleship Minister–Formation and serving alongside a collaborative ministry team, this leader will help shape the next generation strategy of the church while contributing to the broader mission of First Baptist Arlington.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee all student ministry environments, programs, and events for grades 6–12.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for students and families.
• Equip parents as the primary disciplers of their teenagers.
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders and ministry teams.
• Develop student leaders who serve, influence, and share the Gospel.
• Create pathways for outreach, connection, and assimilation of new students and families.
• Build meaningful relationships with local schools, educators, and community partners.
• Supervise student ministry staff and foster a healthy ministry culture.
• Oversee ministry operations, budgeting, communication, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with church staff to advance the mission and vision of First Baptist Arlington.

​POSI​TION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Associate Minister (Discipleship), this leader will supervise the church’s age-based formation ministers and serve as a key member of the Discipleship Lead Team. The position exists to ensure that discipleship is not confined to individual ministries but becomes an integrated reality throughout the life of the church. The successful candidate will help advance the church’s discipleship framework of Saved, Shepherded, Shaped, and Sent while strengthening collaboration between Formation, Worship, and Engagement ministries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and advance the church’s intentional discipleship strategy.
• Lead and supervise formation ministries from Preschool through Adult.
• Develop and align discipleship systems, curriculum pathways, and leader training processes.
• Mentor and equip ministry staff and volunteer leaders.
• Collaborate with Worship and Engagement leaders to create integrated discipleship opportunities.
• Strengthen small group and Bible study ministries across the church.
• Provide theological guidance and oversight for discipleship resources and curriculum.
• Manage ministry planning, budgeting, and administrative processes for Formation ministries.
• Foster community, spiritual growth, evangelistic sensitivity, and service throughout the congregation.
• Serve as a visible spiritual leader who models prayer, worship, discipleship, and pastoral care.

Responsible for working in a class with preschool or grade school children during church events.

Core Responsibilities / Tasks

• Love Jesus and kids!
• We view childcare as an extension of our Preschool Ministry; therefore, childcare teachers will teach Bible stories through play time, activities, songs, prayers, etc.
• Must have a positive and teachable attitude
• Childcare workers need to have a flexible spirit and willing to be assigned to different aged classes as needed and directed by the Supervisor.
• Have fun! This is more than just a job. We are looking for teachers who engage with the children and genuinely enjoy leading and teaching the children.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Willing to complete a background check and trainings as needed
• Calendar management
• Dependability and flexibility a must
• Willingness to get CPR certified
• Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds, squat, and stand for long periods of time.
• Membership with FBCA is not required but recommended

Minimum Office Equipment / Computer Proficiency

• Ability to check email and compose correspondence as needed regarding schedule and time off requests.

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have High School Diploma/GED
• Must be willing to get a background check/Fingerprinting
• Must be willing to get CPR/1^st Aid Certified
• Must Be able to pass a T.B. Test
• Experience working with children from ages 6 weeks - 5 years a plus!
• Flexible schedule a plus!

Part time & full time available
