Dear FBCA Family,
With the start of a new year, we would like to give you another update from the Worship Ministry Assessment and Search Committee. It has been nearly a year since we began our work. The first six months were spent in careful assessment of our current Worship Ministries. We listened to our church staff, to our worship ministry volunteers, and to the broader church-body. We conducted interviews, surveys, and listening sessions. Here is some of what we learned. Whoever leads in Worship Ministry at FBCA…
- Must be a minister first, who deepens the spiritual lives of the leaders, volunteers, and congregation they serve,
- Must be a collaborative partner, serving alongside team members who facilitate excellence worship ministries,
- Must cultivate the talents of the members of First Baptist Church Arlington and create opportunities for our church folks to serve,
- Must be a servant with a desire to help realize the vision set before us by our Senior Pastor.
With needs in contemporary and classic worship expressions, we began looking for individuals who are musically gifted and who serve the church well as ministers. Truly, this search would depend on God’s leadership. God would have to lead us to the right candidates.
Here’s the good news: our committee has progressed to the interview stage of our search process. While we are still open to new applicants, we have narrowed our focus. In the coming months, we look forward to presenting the candidates to which God has lead us. Because of our current status, we humbly ask you to pray. Pray that we continue to be humble and open to God’s leadership. Pray that we steward this process well. Pray that God may remove any obstacle between our church and the leaders God brings our way. Pray that we as a church family are ready to begin this new phase of ministry. Thank you for your prayers. If you have any questions or comments, email the committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
