Do you speak English?
There's a place for you to make an impact.
Our non-English speaking neighbors and friends are asking for help. An opportunity exists specifically for you whether online, on-campus or off-campus, no matter your life stage. You can volunteer throughout the week and make an impact through:
- Conversation partners
- Teaching English
- Relationship building
The world is knocking at our door, will you step out in faith and say 'hello'?
WhatsApp Conversation Partners: Volunteer for a 12-week commitment with a one-hour training. You will have a weekly hour conversation on various topics and it requires little teaching ability, but lots of love and desire to know of the DASH Network’s brothers or sisters in Christ. There's no need to go to Fort Worth; it's a WhatsApp video call. (This couldn't be any easier.) Training: August 16, 10-12pm @ Student Building.
International Friends: Established to minister to the needs of families in our multi-cultural community through English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. You will assist internationals as they adjust to life in the United States. A commitment on Wednesdays from 8:45 -11:15 a.m. September through May. If you need childcare to volunteer, it is available for children who are newborn through pre-k.
UTA Friendship Partners: Adopt a UTA international student to be a Friendship Partner. This commitment is for 1 school year, meet in person 1x a month and check in with the student at least 2x a month. Training is required on August 15th @ 2pm. This training will be at Fielder Church - 2011 S Fielder Rd, Arlington, TX 76013 - in the hospitality room.
Arlington Arab Women’s Center: For women only. You will assist Arab women as they adjust to life in the United States. Meets at 10am-3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for relationship building, conversation partners, English and Citizenship classes, and assistance. Volunteers are needed in multiple areas. Lots of laughter, so be ready. Training is September 2nd at 11:30-2pm (not required).
