Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 1:15-23
By: Ashley Berryhill
Yesterday, we focused on redefining our identities. As we reflect individually on who we are “in Him,” we must also acknowledge who we are “in Him” corporately as the body of believers. In today’s reading, we encounter a “pep-talk” for the people of God. It awakens our spirit and stirs in us.
(Vs. 15-19) Who are we as the people of God? We have received the Spirit of God who knows all wisdom and revelation. Yet, we must ask God’s Spirit to deepen our perception and wisdom. We need to be transformed into His likeness. We need to recognize the power of God at work in us individually and in us TOGETHER. And if God’s power is at work in us individually, then how much more is this divine power realized in us TOGETHER.
(Vs. 20-23) What is this power at work in us as the people of God? It is the same power that raised him from the dead. It is the same power by which Jesus ascended into the heavens. This is the same power God has freely given to God’s people. How different might the world be if we believed this truth? How different would the world be if we lived in this power? What impact and difference might we make with the power of God working in us individually and working in us TOGETHER?
Take a moment to ask the Spirit of God for greater clarity, bigger boldness, and deeper wisdom. Ask the Spirit to help us as the people of God to walk together in the fullness of His authority and power.
