Fall 2017 SERVE Schedule
Saturday September 9th
9:30-Noon, Sorting hurricane relief donations at Mission Arlington. It is always a joy to serve with our sister ministry in any capacity!
Wednesday September 27th
6:30-7:30pm at the Student Center. Bring donations of backpacks and school supplies for refugee children! Many refugee families must make difficult choices on how to prioritize their budgets between essential items like food, medicine, and transportation. By providing adequate school supplies for families, we allow them to focus their resources on the most important things! Refugee Services of Texas will be coming to share about who refugees are and ways that we can help serve the hundred of resettled refugees right here in our neighborhood.
Saturday October 21st
9am-Noon- Blessing the Generations Work Day. We’re partnering with homebound, elderly, disables, and widowed members of our church to assist them with housework and yardwork. We have been tremendously blessed by the prayer, encouragement, and financial support of the many generations of our church. Let’s use our time and energy to show them the same level of love!
Wednesday November 15th
6:30-7:30pm at the Student Center. This is the last day to turn in donations for Clash of the Classes, where we collect items for Thanksgiving dinners for families in need all across Arlington. Bring all your last minute donations! We’ll be taking all of the donations to Mission Arlington where we’ll help them sort everything, and be part of something much bigger than ourselves.
Saturday December 2nd
10am-Noon at the student center. Rescue Her, an organization that fights human trafficking, will come share a presentation to raise awareness about what is happening in our communities, and ways that we can help. We’ll be labeling soaps which will be delivered to motels all across the metroplex. Each soap will have instructions on how to get help when caught in human trafficking. Motel management and employees are educated on how to identify and report suspicious behavior. We are very excited to be able to partner with this ministry and fight slavery!
