We all have time. It's the one resource we all are given equally. 24 hours in every day. 7 days in every week. For every one of us.
A lot of the work of God simply requires time. In the middle of our busy schedules, we have the responsibility to dedicate a portion of our time to serving God. How does that happen?
Some time is very intentional. You decide to work at an event at church. You commit to teach a children's class at church. You volunteer to serve on a ministry team at church. There are some situations where your time is planned and you know what you're supposed to do...and how much time is involved.
Other times, you don't get that luxury. Maybe your time is required at a lunch hour when a co-worker needs to talk about a problem they're facing. Sometimes your time is required when you talk to a neighbor at the curb. Maybe a family member calls and needs your help. This might be the hardest part: giving your time when you don't have the time.
What about your time? Are you giving of your time? Are you happy about giving of your time? Do you avoid giving it or do you offer it freely?
What can you do this year to give of your time? |
