PLANTED . . . On Earth for a Purpose
Joshua: Bold and Courageous
Joshua 1
Psalm 1 – A blessed person is like a tree, transplanted by streams of water!
PURPOSE – Who am I? Why am I here?
God has chosen to work through human beings. He has transplanted you. Why?
TEXT: Joshua 1:1-9
Joshua appears in Exodus 17 as a military leader for Israel.
More famously, Joshua and Caleb were the only two “spies” sent into the Promised Land who believed God had delivered it into their hands.
Joshua became the leader for Israel at a strategic time in its history. Israel had “set out” (nasa) for the Promised Land and now it was time to “crossover” (abar).
Joshua had to exhibit courageous leadership for Israel to accomplish its goal and for the people to learn to trust him as Moses’ replacement.
We all will encounter times in our lives where we need the courage and boldness that only God can provide!
