PLANTED . . . On Earth for a Purpose
Planted on Earth for a Purpose
Psalm 1; Colossians 2:6-7

Glorifying God by Following The Jesus Way!

TEXT: Psalm 1

The Doctrine of Revelation – God’s activity of self-disclosure

Revelation – God’s creation reveals His purpose for His actions.

The God of the Bible is a purposeful, intentional God.

The God of the Bible is a sovereign God!

Psalm 1:3: A tree planted . . .

Shatul – the Hebrew word for “transplanted”

Text: Colossians 2:6-7

We live what we believe!

Rooted in Christ, Built Up in Christ, and Strengthened in Christ – all the work of God in our lives!

We’ve been planted, rooted, built up and strengthened by a sovereign and purposeful God!

We respond to God’s work in our lives with gratitude!

Psalm 1

1:1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish. (ESV)

Colossians 2:6-7

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (ESV)
