What year did you start working at First Baptist?
2004
Tell us how you came to know Christ:
I wanted Jesus, Lord of my life at a Revival when I was 11 years old at Memorial Baptist Church in Temple, TX. I was baptized the next month in my home church, FBC Temple.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
Working alongside a dedicated Christian staff.
What’s your favorite Bible verse currently?
Reminded and encouraged just recently by my son, Zach, of God's incredible promise in Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."
What do you feel like God is teaching you lately?
God continues to remain in control in all the details through my father-in-law dying of multiple myleloma at 73 last Feb. 09, the economy situation causing my husband to have to lay off personal friends and co-workers from his work and take a 10% salary cut, my home church FBC, Temple, being burned by arson on 1/19/10; my dad at 83 having successful, quadruple bypass surgery, 2/2/10, my son going on his third "ride out" of many to come for a college class paper in Criminal Justice/Sociology at ETBU, my daughter graduating being a senior at AHS and leading her to attend Hardin Simmons in the fall.
What are your hobbies?
Family time--ski trips, mission trips, camping trips, personal time to recharge..
Tell us a bit about your family:
I have been married to Sam 27 years, and we have two older children, Zach, 20, a sophomore at ETBU in Marshall, and Stephanie, 18, a senior at AHS.
What’s your favorite meal and who would be attending?
Seafood with family and friends.
Tell us a little known fact about yourself:
Accidentally showering in a boy's bathroom in a coed dorm with my sister at the Univ. of Hawaii, Summer '80, in a hurry to get to Sunday night church.
Why should someone get involved at First Baptist Church Arlington?
Because the Lord leads them here to do life with us and to find a multi-generational church family to belong to and be ministered by. Also to serve alongside an authentic, caring church family. To experience God's presence in this place in worship, bible study, choir rehearsals, youth/college activities that my teenagers are involved in, business meetings, and on and on....
